we7 Presents... Dear Acetate PDF Print E-mail

We're pleased to announce that we7 have selected us for 'we7 presents' and we're currently sharing the banner at the top of the front page with Snow Patrol, The XX and Lady Gaga!

You can find your way over to we7.com and click on us on the top page banner, or click on the album cover for 'Lost Days & nights' lower down the page. The album can be heard there in full, and as well as streaming you can choose to download the tracks or whole album.

We imagine they must have been swamped by artists eager for one of the we7 presents slots, a package they reckon is worth in excess £10k worth of promotion!

"The we7 team and other music industry professionals from record labels, magazines and music companies will chose the artists who will make it on to the site, based on quality of music and whatever catches their eye!"

We're certainly pretty chuffed that they've chosen us, and given us the chance to reach a wider audience.

Hello hello from DA Town.  Rob here, bringing you some festive cheer and looking back at an eventful year, but also forwards to what is sure to be an even MORE eventful one.

This is the end of my first year with Dear Acetate and I can honestly say it has been the best year the other guys have ever had.  Not only can I play music ok, I also have a car and can pick Sonny up from a number of exotic locations (the pub, the pavement outside the pub, the car-park beside the pavement outside the pub).  Amazing!  I’ve had my ears melted by Shane’s drumming, got a new haircut so that I look as trendy as the rest of them, and I’m a changed man as a result.

We played our final gig of the year at The Flag in Watford on 19th Dec, battling through the snow and ice to play a short yet ridiculously loud set.  (Cheers to anyone who fought the weather to come down and see us!)  A great way to get us back in the swing of things before the Christmas break and it has set us up to continue gigging at the start of 2010.

But that is not the only reason 2010 is going to be so exciting!

The debut album, ‘Lost Days & Nights’, has been recorded, mastered and finally constructed by the magical musical dwarves in the CD factory, and we’re all extremely proud of it.  We hope that you will all get the chance to be proud of us as well by purchasing your very own copy!  Our very own website is to be launched in the New Year, and within said website will be a delicious new shop (amongst other exciting pages including news, biographies, photos, music etc. etc. etc.)!  When??  Soon.  Very soon.

Dear Acetate are also hugely honoured to have been selected by We7 for their ‘We7 Presents’ feature, which celebrates the best up-and-coming acts.  From 28th December, you will be able to listen to the debut album FOR FREE on this glorious website (www.we7.com).  More details to follow.

So that’s about all I have to say.  Thank you all so much for your continued support, and your patience regarding the album.  We realise you’ve all been waiting a while to hear it, but we hope you understand that we only get one shot at releasing this thing, and we’ve got to get it spot on!  I can guarantee that the album is coming, we are coming to play loads of shows, and that 2010 is going to be a friggin’ awesome year where we get nominated for all the top awards in every industry ever - Stee J will record the next Christmas number 1 with Simon Cowell’s mum, Marc will win Crufts, Sonny will eat Bruce Forsyth’s moustache on Strictly Come Dancing, Shane won’t win the World Cup, and I’ll write an Oscar-winning film soundtrack using only a piano and my elbows.

So do eat too much, do drink too much, and do keep spreading the DA love around.  Much band love.

Rob.xx

2010 - Gigs, Gigs, Gigs??? PDF Print E-mail

The show with the Paddingtons last week was a lot of fun. Nice to blow away those cobwebs, and be back out playing. Thanks to those of you that came down and braved the snow and icy conditions.  Lloyd from the Paddingtons came over after the show, telling me how much he'd enjoyed the set, which was a nice touch. Hopefully they enjoyed listening to 'Lost Days & Nights' on the tour bus. Smile

That gig was the first of hopefully many post-album gigs.  Having spent a large chunk of 2009 concentrating on the album, we want to make up for lost time and get back out and about playing.  A London album launch show is in the pipeline to tie in with everything else, venue and date to be confirmed but probably February.  We'll also be looking to play other shows up and down the country.

If you're a promoter or involved with booking venues, then get in touch, and lets sort out some shows!

Want us to play your town, drop us a message and let us know, better still give give your local promoter a nudge to get in touch.  Got a party you want us to play? ... yeah you get the idea. Cool

After many hours of toil, and the use of many expletives, the new Dear Acetate website is up and running. Cool We've a few more things still to add in, such as gig listings, and a shop so you can order the cd online (paying via paypal).  These should be available sometime next week.

We'll be adding more content as we go.  If there's anything in particular you want to see on the site then drop us a message or leave us a comment, and we'll see what we can do. Smile

Right, time to put my feet up, catch up on some sleep and partying, and enjoy what's left of the crimble break. Tongue out
